Tokyo-based software engineering boutique LiNKX, jointly with Minna no Ginko (part of Fukuoka Financial Group) and Zero Bank Design Factory, has developed a Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform that will allow non-financial companies to embed financial services offerings into the applications provided to their customers (“embedded finance”), leveraging Minna no Ginko’s financial services licenses.
This newly developed BaaS platform is the first in Japan to implement the Financial-grade API (FAPI) standard (developed through the OpenID Foundation), using Authlete’s implementation, and thus to achieve the world’s highest level of security in financial services.
It is expected that this offering will prove attractive for domestic companies (for example, an insurance company embedding payments functionality) as well as for foreign startups looking to enter the Japanese market in a lightweight fashion.
This event will feature speakers from LiNKX, Minna no Ginko and Authlete. We expect the presentations to be BI-LINGUAL, i.e. either English presentation with Japanese slides, or Japanese presentation with English slides, depending on the preference of the speaker.
